Fjord Drawings
I stayed two months at ‚Kunstnarhuset Messen‘
in Ålvik / Norway. Many water colours, collages and drawings
came into being outdoors at Hardangerfjord. |
|
temporary
ground
The title came into being because of the situation
of my studio floor in Cologne. Special works were presented in correspondence
with the partly torn off floor. This complex name (designation,
description, labeling, term) does fit generally with my drawings
and objects and will work now as a working title. |

Spatial Shapes
After a two-month stay in the Contemporary Art Center
Nairs, the architecture and landscape of the Lower Engadin in Switzerland
continue to inspire my work.
The large-scale formations were developed for the exhibition ‘Orte’
(places) in the ‘Neues Kunstforum’ Cologne. |
|
River Drawings
The drawings with the series title ‘Fluss‘
(river) are outdoors work, which came into being on the banks of
the river Inn near Scuol in Switzerland.

Landscape
Space
Boxes, cardboards, crumpled paper.
Indirect drawing and structure – folded edges, paper wrinkles,
chiseled and torn parts – all correspond with architectural
elements and pictorial use of ink. |

Object
Drawing
Space – Landscape – Time:
Crucial factor across all works.
Inspired by stays in Macedonia, Iceland and Switzerland. |
|
Murals
'Space' is crucial for all my work. With these collages
the wall becomes the plate. The mural corresponds with the whole
room. |

Städtebau
(Urban Development)
After spending three months in New York City I was
inspired to do a series of drawings and collages which are titled
Städtebau (Urban Development). From unfolding a found box there
instantly comes into being a geometric field which inspires architectural
shapes and motifs. |

NY
2001
Four weeks in New York City in February/March 2001 and there these
drawings came into being. |
|
NY
'97 Observing Manhattan's architecture
between its two rivers made me concious of the contrast between
geometric and organic forms. The shapes in these drawings become
both representational and abstract, massive and transparent, intimate
and monumental as reflected by my varied experiences of the City.

Concrete
and plaster pieces
These art works are connected with my experiences with
archeological excavations and documentation of archeological finds.
By a process of putting plaster fragments in concrete cast and visa-versa
I create remnants, imprints, impressions and fossils. |
